Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a HOSS?
A: The HOSS consists of a wire panel made of 3 inch square holes, mounts on any wall using brackets and anchor screws, and on which you can hang wire baskets, bins, shelves, and hooks at any convenient height or configuration.

Q: What are the advantages of a HOSS system?
A:The Organized Barn & Tackroom HOSS panels and accessories are strong, offer many standard features, are easy to adjust, and can be easily customized to suit your needs. You will be able to store most of your stable equipment off of the floor and take advantage of the wasted wall space.

Q: How do I install the HOSS panel?
A: You can order our HOSS mounting brackets and attach them to a vertical surface using screws. Place the brackets so that the wire of the HOSS rests in the arm of the bracket. Mounting brackets should be placed close to each of the four corners. For HOSS sizes larger than 1 x 5', use additional mounting brackets in the center of the panel. Mounting brackets should be installed on the studs or support beams of the wall. If you cannot do this, be sure to anchor the screws (or mollys) appropriately. To create a temporary system (like at a show), use a set of our heavy duty utility hooks. Hang one end of the hook over the top of the stall wall and the other end hooks through the HOSS panel.
HORSE TRAILERS: When mounting HOSS panels in a horse trailer, be sure to secure the mounting brackets to the STUDS inside the trailer. If concerned about the panels "jumping" off the brackets over rough terrain, simply mount one of the brackets upside down.

Q: Can I hang the HOSS horizontally or vertically?
A: Yes. We recommend that you hang the HOSS at the most convenient height for all users. Depending on your available space, you can hang the HOSS vertically or horizontally. The accessories can be adjusted at any time to suit your needs.

Q: What tools will I need to install a HOSS?
A: You will need a tape measure, a level, screws, screwdriver and a drill. If you need to cut the panel, a hacksaw will be necessary.

Q: How do I move the HOSS once it's installed?
A: Simply empty the HOSS and lift it off of the mounting brackets, re-place the mounting brackets where you need them and re-hang the HOSS.

Q: How far off the vertical surface will the HOSS be?
A: Approximately 1 inch.

Q: What is the HOSS made of?
A: Powder coated steel.

Q: How many mounting brackets do I need?
A: It depends on the size of the panel and what will be stored on the panel. You can use four on a 1x5 panel, five on a 2x4 or 3x4 heavy duty panel. If you are storing heavy items, you should use more mounting brackets towards the center of the panel as well.
